Description
Intended primarily for the central side but equally usable at the camera, the single-channel VI-COAX-2401A carries 10/100Mbps Ethernet plus PoE-af (15W) and PoE-at (30W) over coaxial cable across up to 500m. Pass-through technology forwards the PoE supply of a midspan, for example, so no separate feed is required in PoE mode; the power loss of the run must be taken into account. Cabling is 50Ohm RG6, RG58A/U, RG58C/U and RG58U or 75Ohm RG59 and equivalents. Software configuration is not involved, and diagnostic LEDs show the operating state. The module has one 10/100BaseT port (RJ45) and one coax port (BNC), mounts on a table, a wall or a top hat rail, measures 95 x 40 x 30mm (L x D x H), draws 2W, dissipates 7 BTU/h and is rated for -40 to +75°C.
