Description
The VI-COAX-2408AB is an eight-channel module that attaches eight separate extender lines over coaxial cable, offering eight 10/100BaseT ports (RJ45) and eight coaxial ports (BNC). Every line carries 10/100Mbps Ethernet as well as PoE-af (15W) and PoE-at (30W) across up to 500m, and the power loss of the transmission path has to be considered. Power comes from 12VDC supplied by the enclosed VI-0014AB unit, which does not itself inject PoE. Cabling can be 50Ohm RG6, RG58A/U, RG58C/U and RG58U or 75Ohm RG59 and equivalents, with no software configuration involved. The 19 inch chassis of 1U and 250mm depth also suits table or wall mounting, draws 15W, dissipates 27 BTU/h, weighs 2.0 kg net and covers -40 to +75°C.
